     Purchased for a bargain price off of EBay in 2005. The previous owner had actually attempted to start building this model starting with the engine nacelles. Luckily a careful check seems to show that all the parts are included. This includes a set of resin parts and photoetch pieces. There are almost no aftermarket accessories apart from:

 

  • Owl Etched Aerials

  • Eagle Strike Decals

  • Engines & Things ENG48040 Klimov M-103

The kit instructions and kit Decals. This is not the original bagging. I did not open these for the photo's. This photo shows fuselage, wing center and resin parts in yellow. The same bag from the other side. The other bag of sprues featuring all the other parts.

The Eagle Strike decals set 48038 "Petlyakov Pe-2's Pt. I". Oddly enough it suggests an "Airfix - Italeri Pe-2". This may have existed in 1/72nd but not 1/48th. This suggest that Eagle Strike scaled this up from a 1/72nd scale version. The set includes a Finnish example. There are also five Russian machines shown. Two have very interesting Winter camouflage. .
