Hasegawa 1/72nd scale Jaguar

Hasegawa 1/72nd scale Jaguar

1.     The Hasegawa 1/72nd scale Jaguar. This was an excellent build and went really well. In fact I was quite pleased with this until my eldest daughter knocked bits off a few years ago. I painted it based upon pictures of the real thing in my Father's 'Air Pictorial' Magazine. The camouflage used accurate Xtracolour Enamel paints that was mostly Airbrushed on. I found that I could brush-paint a thin first coat of the Green then Airbrush to second to good effect.

2.     This technique allows the basic pattern to be established without masking. Then the Airbrush fills in the colour density and gives a slightly softer edge.3.     This technique was used until I discovered rolled up BluTak.....4.     The outdoor photo's show off the model at its best. Close-ups do reveal some fluff & dust on the model. Nowadays I try to get the best photo's shortly after completion.5.     Then I wrap each model in cling-film to stop the dust.

6.     A rear garden photo. The building in the background is a warehouse behind the garden at my Father's House.7.     Close-up the of the weapons. The underwing fuel tanks were actually culled from a Matchbox T.2 Two Seater Jaguar bought just for this purpose.8.     The bombs and Sidewinders are from the kit but given a little extra attention based upon my references.9.    There is an Aeroclub White Metal Ejection Seat in the cockpit.
