| 2. I purchased the kit for half its normal price from EBay. The seller had brought it over from Japan as the box was marked with its price in Yen. | 3. By the time these photo's were taken most assembly had been done and the last few etched items from an Eduard set were being added. | 4. By March 2005 we had completed the initial sub-assemblies and had airbrushed a black undercoat before the camouflage top coat. Then the hand painted details were added. | 5. The matt coat provide a good base for the artist chalk weathering added at this point. The colour has been mixed with Humbrol Enamels from a sample. Tamiya only quoted their own paints..... |

| 6. ....in this case the quoted paint was a spray can which we went out and bought. Sadly the spray can paint was not compatible with the undercoat so it couldn't be used itself. | 7. After the chalk weathering was applied the components were airbrushed with a gloss coat to seal in the chalk and provide a suitable base for the brown acrylic wash. | 8. The acrylic will just soak into the matt coat without running into the detail as we need it to. After the wash the dry-brushing is performed over the completed model. | 9. The model is now complete and is a little over 70mm long. |

| 10. The decals are from the kit and were applied before the wash. | 11. These photo's were taken with the Bf109 E4 diorama featured elsewhere on this web site. | | |
