1. Pictured sometime around 1996 - I don't recall.... My ultimate Spitfire partially constructed.

2. The Casadio Spitfire all Metal kit. Quite unique. It would be four years before it was completed.

3. By 2000 she was finished! The Casadio 1/48th scale Spitfire XIV.

4. This kit was built mostly during the Winter of 1999/2000 although it had been started in 1996.

5. The model is actually NOT plastic. It is entirely metal apart from a few added details.

6. The model originates from an obscure Italian manufacturer called "Casadio". I bought the kit back in 1989.

7. The markings come from an Aeromaster decal set and represent an aircraft of the RAF's 41 Sqn 2nd Tactical AF in Germany 1945

8. The model was airbrushed with Xtracolour Enamels.

9. Most of the extra detailing comes in the engine bay.

10. The engine is a Griffon and used to be available as a separate kit.

11. The cockpit benefited from additional seat belts.

12. These photo's are taken with the model on its wooden base.

13. The base was cut to shape from a wooden shelving unit.

14. The base has been stained and then the top was coated with model railway grass.

15. A few extra details, such as the flight gear, come from a Paragon set.

16. This next set of photo's were taken in December 2004 to show the Name Plate.

18. Unlike earlier photo's these have been taken against a specially purchased paper background.

19. I purchased three large sheets of cartridge paper of a neutral blue colour and laid them out behind the model.
