     "Hobbies As If The World Mattered" - that's us. Model Making with attitude. Welcome to a World of Small Wonders. Ever been to a Model Making Club recently? Every spent a bit of time on an online Model Maker's Forum? Every get the impression that the Hobby is dominated by middle aged, balding, male nerds, most of whom could do with skipping a meal or two? What a terrible stereotype. What is worse, many seem to revel in the glamour of militarism. The problem is that this fine bunch of people should know better. Most model-makers will study their subjects intimately and should be familiar with the damage a Laser-Guided Bomb can cause or the growing levels of climate-changing CO2 that an airliner can pump out. Where is their conscience? So, here we have a novelty - model making with a message. We choose a more thoughtful approach free of any jingoistic nationalism. Our models don't glorify the subject - they celebrate the hobby. Join us. We believe that the aptitude & patience required to make something is a valuable personal talent for our collective future. It is no small wonder that working with your hands is a dieing art. You live in a World were you are told to shop for everything you ever wanted or needed. Then throw it away. You are meant to believe that Oil will last forever and the free market will take care of you. You are told who your enemies are & that you need a war on terror. Stop believing this rubbish. Stop shopping. Start making. Make a difference.

     Our Model Galleries are split into two: "Gallery 1990" shows models built largely between 1979 and 1989. The second section "Gallery 2000" shows mostly models built between 1999 & 2006. Recent Galleries will also show the build progress and dialogue which may be useful to other model-makers.

     The "On the Bench" section shows the small wonder being built today. This isn't always a model aircraft and can be a wide variety of things. Tune in and find out.

     The "Future Projects" takes a look at the small wonders to be built in future whilst "Kit Instructions" is for the curious or anyone who has ever lost the instructions for building a model kit. We will install our back catalogue there for you.

     The "Small Planet" section looks at sustainable culture, carbon-neutrality and home power generation. This section will follow our journey in the battle to cut our Oil-dependency and CO2 emissions. This link takes you to our sister Web Site www.carbon-cutters.com. Launching in May 2008 - our new look Web Site has been moved to a new, separately hosted, web server. We needed more space on the old server for the family site whilst the increased space on this new server should allow us to increase the numbers of scanned Kit instructions.

     "Crude Impact" is a movie about Peak Oil that is easily as good as "An Inconvenient Truth". It may not feature a famous Movie Star or Politician but it is the most moving and thought-provoking documentary on this topic so far. The makers take you on a trip from the West African Delta to the Amazonian Rain Forest in order to show us how serious and dangerous our addiction to Oil is. What will we do when our cheap supplies end? A host of experts explain the facts. It will chill you to the bone. Eye-opening.
