Hers: Liya & jewellry making

Liya Brown

This web site is devoted to husband and wife team Liya and Mark Brown. Originally devoted solely to Mark's model-making, "small-wonder.org" was split into the jewellry and model-making sections in 2012.

Liya Brown has been making Jewellry since 2009. Her work is regularly posted to her Facebook page here & can be seen here on her Gallery.

Liya is the author of the CraftyPlotter Blog. Liya says: "between gardening and crafting I still read loads, be it Grow Your Own magazines, volumes on sustainable living and permaculture, or books and magazines on jewellery making, knitting, cooking or polymer clay, not even mentioning here the vast amount of info on the net, let alone my ability to converse perfectly in English and Russian, a tiny bit in German and an even tinier bit in French, which only increases the time spent on the computer much to the dismay of my long suffering husband! Also I occasionally manage to coax him into enjoying family days out with our two daughters and holidays far away from home as travelling to see the world is the best way for me to learn geography (cheeky smile here). I still love learning new skills, and anything and everything educational - give me a new learning experience any day!"

...& His: Mark & model making

Mark BrownMark has been model making since childhood. Now in his mid-forties Mark struggles to juggle hobbies with his other responsibilities to his wife Liya, his children, his business and his home. Hobbies now take a back seat but still he dabbles when time allows. His Facebook page can be found here. Mark is company Director of his own IT services business Krofire Enterprises Ltd (www.krofire.com) and writes as Post-Carbon Man at his web site www.post-carbon-living.com.

His Blogs also appear on the Bucks Free Press website where he writes for Transition Town High Wycombe - an organisation he helped found in 2008. He maintains their web site at www.transition-wycombe.org.uk.

The Model-making section is split into three: "Models Past" showing scale models built between 1979 and today. "Models Future" shows the current build progress of what is "on the bench" (with dialogue useful to other model-makers). Then we have our self-explanatory "Books" section that supports our model builds.
